This policy explains, transparently, how the BotNow Recorder app ("app") handles information.
In short: your audio recordings stay on your own device — we have no server that stores your audio and we do not listen to it. The app requires no account. Some technical data is collected by third-party services (ads and subscription), as explained below.
1. Who is responsible
BotNow Recorder is developed and operated by Reginaldo Vitor Botelho (BotNow), the data controller. For any privacy matter, contact us: contato@botnow.com.br.
2. Your recordings stay on the device
The audio you record, its names, folders and organization are saved locally on your device. They are not sent to us or to any server under our control. We have no access to, do not listen to, and do not make copies of your recordings.
When you uninstall the app or delete recordings inside it, that data ceases to exist on the device. Make a copy (for example, by sharing the file) before deleting, if you want to keep it.
3. Microphone permission
The app requests microphone access exclusively to record audio, and only when you start a recording. The microphone is not used in the background or for any other purpose.
4. Audio transcription
The app offers the option to transcribe a recording into text. This transcription uses your device's operating-system speech recognition service (for example, Google's service on Android or Apple's on iOS), triggered only when you tap "Transcribe".
Depending on your device and settings, this recognition may happen entirely on the device (offline), or the audio may be sent to the system provider (Google or Apple) for processing. That processing is performed by the system provider under its own privacy policy — we do not receive or store the audio sent in this process. The resulting transcribed text is saved only on your device, alongside the recording.
5. Data collected by third-party services
To keep the app free and process the Premium subscription, we use third-party services that may collect technical data from your device. This data does not include the content of your recordings.

6. Ads and your choices
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob. You can limit personalized ads at any time in your device settings, by resetting or disabling the advertising identifier (on Android: "Ads"; on iOS: "Tracking"). By subscribing to Premium, ads are removed.
7. Legal basis
We process data based on performance of a contract (providing the app and the subscription you purchased) and on legitimate interest (keeping the service free through ads, and ensuring it works and is secure), always respecting your rights. Where applicable, personalized ads rely on your consent, which can be withdrawn in your device settings.
8. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. Sharing is limited to the essential third-party services listed in section 5. We may disclose information if required by law or a competent authority.
9. Retention and deletion
Since your recordings stay on the device, you control them and can delete them whenever you want (see the Delete data page). Data processed by third-party services follows each provider's retention periods.
10. Your rights
You may request access, correction, portability, information about sharing, and deletion of the personal data processed, as well as withdraw consent. To exercise any right, write to contato@botnow.com.br.
11. Children
BotNow Recorder is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the last-updated date shown at the top.
